It looks as though Gretchen Barretto and her mom, Inday, are not on speaking terms. Someone noticed that they did not even bother to look at each other during the first birthday party of Rodrigo Santino, the firstborn of Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago.

It will be recalled that Gretchen expressed her disgust (not disappointment) when Inday appeared on TV and sided with Marjorie at the height of Gretchen and Marjorie's well-publicized feud. At that time, even Claudine took up the cudgels for Marjorie.

The misunderstanding between the sisters happened when Gretchen allegedly drove out Marjorie and her family from the house in Grand Villas, Quezon City which she (Gretchen) lent to them.

Dennis Padilla, who was still married to Marjorie then (their marriage has been annulled), was said to have caused the feud.

Recalled a kibitzer: "Remember when Willie Revilement was still hosting a game program on ABC-5 sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes? Well, balitang ni-resent 'yon ni Dennis. Bakit daw(daw, ha) 'di ginawan ng paraan ni Gretchen na sa kanya na mapunta ang program?

"At that time, it was still Tony 'Boy' Cojuangco, na alam na nating lahat ay the man in Gretchen's life, who is said to own ABC 5. Ngayon, mga taga Malaysia na yata ang nagra-run ng network.

"Pero, funny, ha," continued our informer. "Bati na sina Gretchen, Marjorie at Claudine. Ang mukhang may problema na lang ay sina Gretchen at Mommy nila."

The entire Barretto clan, headed, of course, by its patriarch, Mike, was at the party. Actually, it was not just Claudine's parents and siblings who were all accounted for. Her nephews and nieces came, too.

All the Barretto children are married. There are eight of them. Claudine is the youngest.

Raymart is the youngest, too. His siblings and their kids were all present, too. Mom Cielito Legaspi was in her element as she moved around greeting almost all the visitors.

The Blue Leaf, which reportedly can accommodate about a thousand visitors, was brimming with celebrity children, all, yes, all future celebrities themselves.

We saw, for one Cherry Pie Picache running after her son. Coney Reyes was showing off to friends her first and only apo. "Son of my son, LJ," she enthused.

Mylene Dizon personally attended to her son, even if he had his yaya in tow. The boy, Tomas Miguel, now almost three, is her son with budding actor Paolo Paraiso.

Viva Entertainment executive June Rufino came with son, Ranvel, who had his son, Raoul with him. Kris Aquino and husband James Yap were not around, but their two sons, Joshua and Baby James, were present.

Maricel Laxa and husband Anthony Pangilinan were with their four children, two girls and two boys. Their eldest, Ella, now 12 years old, told us she wants to become a movie star, too, just like her Mom and Lola (Imelda Ilanan).

We told her to wait until she is 13 (which, she said, will be next year).

Maricel and Anthony named Ella after her grandmothers, Emma and Imelda.

Andeng Bautista-Ynares came with husband, Rizal Governor Junjun Ynares and elder sister, Rowena Mendiola. At their table were Mons Romulo-Tantoco and her husband, Sander Tantoco.

Another couple who shared the same table were Jobet Reyes and his beloved Tess Santos.

We also spotted Star Cinema's managing director Malou Santos, director Olive Lamasan, Paolo Contis and Isabel Oli.

Do you know that July 20 was the birthday of Claudine and Raymart? Rodrigo's actual birthday is July 19.

"Gusto sana ni Raymart," related Claudine, "ay maka birthday na rin namin si Rodrigo. But he chose to be born on July 19."
