The School of Rock

Synopsis:

Golden Globe® nominee and comedian Jack Black (High Fidelity, Shallow Hal) stars as down-and-out rock star Dewey Finn who gets kicked out from his band, and faces a mountain of debt and depression. On impulse, he takes a job as a 4th grade substitute teacher at an uptight private school.

The definition of teaching takes on a rock-and-roll turn, as he transforms his young prodigies into a high voltage rock band, and enters them in a "Battle of the Bands" competition.

Oscar® and Golden Globe® nominee Joan Cusack (Runaway Bride, In & Out) co-stars as Principal Rosalie Mullins, who has rock in her soul. With a class act of comedians and funky music, the movie also earned a Grammy® nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture.
