The Pledge

Synopsis:

Directed by Oscar nominee Sean Penn, The Pledge shows us just how hard it is to stop being a cop.

Homicide detective Jerry Black (Oscar winner Nicholson, As Good As It Gets, A Few Good Men) is about to turn in his badge and weapon in for good. His retirement gift from his colleagues? A fishing trip to Mexico.

But it is the dead body of an eight-year-old girl that is fished out from the mountains of his vacation site. Delivering the family the bad news personally, he makes them a promise - to find the killer - a promise that could kill him.

The confession of a phony suspect and a quickly closed case is no closure for Jerry. A killer is out there, and he's going to work overtime to find him. Happy retirement Jerry.
