The Nun's Story (1959)

Synopsis:

Audrey Hepburn gives a fine performance as a young woman who enters a convent and learns all that she must relinquish - her possessions, her family and friends, her memories and most of all, her individual will. Her faith and self-restraint are tested during stints in a Belgian insane asylum and a hospital in the Congo. But World War II turns out to be the greatest test of all.
