The Majestic

Synopsis:

1951. When Hollywood screenwriter Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey, The Mask, The Truman Show, Dumb and Dumber) gets into his car, it will be the beginning of a journey into the vast unknown, and the last thing he'll remember.

An accident leaves Appleton stranded in a small town with amnesia. But by some incredible stroke of luck, Appleton happens to be a splitting image of the town's missing World War II hero, Luke Trimble. So while he may be only half there, Appleton's no stranger to the town's residents, and certainly not to Luke's girlfriend.

Well, if you can't remember a thing, being remembered as someone great isn't a bad option. Luke's father (Oscar winner Martin Landau, Ed Wood, Rounders, Sleepy Hollow) is also happy to receive his son, and together they refurbish the town's decaying movie theater, The Majestic. But when a film Appleton wrote screens, he regains his memory.

Now he knows that the life he's come to love is a lie. Time to decide his future. Will it be the past or the present? Directed by Oscar nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile).
