Synopsis:

A tragic figure, hideously ugly but longing to know love, is caught up in a strange web of betrayal and revenge. Anthony Hopkins turns Victor Hugo's Quasimodo, the malformed 15th-Century bell ringer of Notre Dame, into a touching and compassionate man. Lesley-Anne Down plays the beautiful gypsy who brings him his only moments of tenderness.
