The Howling

Synopsis:

There's much to be said about this 1981 no-fangs-barred horror classic. First, it's about werewolves who put up at a recovery retreat, situated well...in the woods. Second, it stars Dee Wallace-Stone, who proved in her role in E.T. that she's a woman who knows about close encounters. Third, it's directed by scarefare maestro Joe Dante. TV anchorwoman Karen White (Dee Wallace-Stone) crosses paths with a serial killer while on a police sting, and winds up having a too-close-for-comfort encounter with him in a peepshow booth, and later watching him take a bullet and go down.

Karen then starts losing her nuts and her religion when her REM is plagued with horrible visions. Doing time at a recovery center, she starts hearing things in the woods.

Soon after Karen checks into Heartbreak Hotel, the serial killer's body disappears from the morgue. So it's anybody's guess. After that, it's gore galore for the horror hardcore. Enjoy!

Casts: Dee Wallace-Stone, Patrick MacNee
