Synopsis:

At St Benedict's private school for boys, assistant headmaster William Hundert's (Academy® Award winner Kevin Kline - A Fish Called Wanda, Sophie's Choice, In & Out) strives to practice what he teaches.

He's the impassioned, principled Classics professor who tries to inspire his students to live rightly and mold his students' character. His hallowed world turns upside down when freshman Sedgewick Bell (Emile Hirsch - The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys, The Girls Next Door, Wild Iris)--- a senator's son--- arrives at the school.

Sedgewick becomes an instant magnet for his classmates with his charisma, confidence, and brash challenges to the school system. Each day at school becomes a battle of wills between teacher and student. Then one day Sedgewick's father pays Hundert a visit, and convinces the professor that he and his problem student share a bond that would make it impossible for him to give up on the boy.

Hundert slowly begins to bend his rules, and it's not long before his noble efforts begin to have a profound effect on Sedgewick, and on him as well.
