Synopsis:

Convicted for IRA activities, and released from prison after 14 years, Danny Flynn (Academy Award® winner Day-Lewis, The Ballad Of Jack And Rose, Gangs Of New York) returns to the Belfast neighborhood of his youth.

Determined to avoid the bloodshed and rebuild his shattered life, he opens a gym to train young boxers, but sees it becomes a battleground for new fights, both political and personal. Outside the boxing ring lie further complications.

Maggie (Watson, The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers, Separate Lives), his childhood sweetheart, has married and has a son by Danny's best friend, but it is her arms that Danny seeks solace from a harsh world, made harsher by many years of seclusion.
