Synopsis:

Directed by Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall), Superstar is based on Molly Shannon's popular Saturday Night Live character, Mary Katherine Gallagher. Mary (Molly Shannon) is a terminally bumbling, energy-stuffed Irish Catholic schoolgirl whose vivid imagination puts her in a fantasy world that knows no bounds.

In search of a man who will deliver a bona fide Hollywood-style kiss - she sets her eyes on Sky (Ferrell, A Night At The Roxbury; Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged), the hunkiest fella at St. Monica's High School.

Realizing that the only way she is ever going to steal Sky away from his gorgeous girlfriend Evian (Elaine Hendrix, The Parent Trap; Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion), is to become a star.

And her only chance at accomplishing this task is by entering St. Monica's talent contest and winning a role as an extra in a Catholic-approved, morally-correct movie. It's the first film in a long while to give a woman the freedom to "get jiggy" with all-out Jim Carrey-esque full body humor.
