Synopsis:

A New York journalist finds himself caught between the police and a dangerous pimp wanted for murder, when he fabricates a hard-hitting story about prostitution.

Jonathan Fisher (Reeve - TV's Rear Window) is a magazine writer in danger of losing his job. He makes a last ditch promise to his editor that he will write a riveting story about the world of prostitution in New York's famous Times Square.

But he ends up faking a well-received story of a pimp, describing his life and crimes. But police think the story is of a real life pimp, Fast Black (Morgan Freeman - Hard Rain) who is wanted for murder and start pressuring Reeves to reveal the identity of the subject in his story.
