| | Snatch (2001)Synopsis: Guy Ritchie fans will be happy to learn that married life appears to not have affected or changed him at all. Just as enjoyable as his first film, (the cult fave "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels"), "Snatch" is an in-yer-face comedic caper about a diamond heist that's gone helter skelter. The film is centered around a circle of British gangsters - all of whom are in one way or another trying to get their hands on a huge diamond. The movie leaps back and forth between four individual stories with their own subplots to bring it all together through Ritchie's excellent direction. Our guide through the convolutions is Turkish (Stratham, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels), an unlicensed boxing promoter who is in business with Tommy (Stephen Graham). When Turkish and Tommy's plans to fix a fight for gangster boss, Brick Top go horribly wrong, a chain of chaos that links to the stolen diamond begins. Added into the mix is a hard-to-kill Russian badass, Boris the Blade, a trio of bungling robbers Sol, Vincent and Tyrone, Mickey O'Neil (Pitt, Ocean's Eleven; Spy Game), an Irish gypsy bare-knuckle brawler with an unintelligible accent, American wise guy, Avi (Farina, Out Of Sight), who gets the ball rolling by hiring ace thief Franky Four Fingers (Del Toro, Traffic) to steal the diamond.
