Race to Space

Synopsis:

Neil Armstrong wouldn't be moon-walking if it wasn't for Mac - a chimpanzee training to become America's first astronaut so humans can reach the stars in glory, not in flames. But then again, Mac wouldn't be America's first astro-chimp if it wasn't for Billy (Alex Linz).

Constantly getting into trouble in school, Billy's father (James Woods) grounds him in his office - a space station. Here, Billy meets Mac, and man and monkey instantly connect. Through a little TLC, Billy helps Mac reach his potential and get the space assignment over the other primates. But not without regret.

Billy soon realizes the mission dangers and the possibility of losing his new best friend. Worse yet, through his radio kit, which he uses to communicate with Mac at bedtime, he uncovers a plot to sabotage the space project. Father and son race to the scene to rectify the problem, and Mac makes it to the Milky Way and back - a national hero.

Based on a true story, Race To Space is an empowering tale of an uncommon friendship breaking the boundaries of space.
