Pipe DreamSynopsis: If you thought Bowfinger was funny, this one will bust your gut. David's (Martin Donovan) a plumber and Teri's (Mary-Louise Parker) an aspiring screenwriter waiting for her ship to come in. After a one-night stand, David realizes that he's so far down the ladder of corporate success that his existence means nothing to anyone. Now he's going to turn the tables on the snobbish middle class and make a name for himself, even if it's all just an elaborate fantasy. He pretends to be a movie director directing Teri's screenplay. Soon, rumors fly that Robert Redford is a silent producer, and David's movie is hot stuff that everybody wants in on. Both David and Teri think they're using each other, until they discover what they really want is each other. This is movie-making satire at its best.
