Peter Pan

Synopsis:

J.M.Barrie's well-loved tale about the boy who never grows up and never grows old finally gets the maturity and the respect it deserves. Wendy Darling (Hurd-Wood, An American Haunting) and her younger brothers John and Michael join Peter Pan (Sumpter, Just A Dream) and his petulant sidekick, the fairy Tinkerbell (Sagnier, Swimming Pool) on a trip to Neverland. Once they get there, they become embroiled in the ongoing war between Peter and his arch-enemy Captain Hook (Isaacs, Tennis Anyone?).

Back in London, the Darling children's parents and Aunt Millicent (Golden Globe® winner Redgrave, Kinsey) are beside themselves with worry, and wonder if their children will ever come home again.

The film also centers on the love story between Wendy and Peter. She sees him as a dashing young hero. But as her innocent affection for Peter grows, she longs to free him from his eternal adolescence.

A far cry from the famous 1953 animated feature, this latest adaptation successfully manages to capture the attention of both children and adults through Peter Pan and the Darling children's fantastic adventures in Neverland, the colorful, imaginative sets, and its eloquent addressing of the gains and losses of adulthood.
