| | PassionadaSynopsis: This well-crafted tale of love lost and found centers on Celia Amonte (Milos, CSI: Miami) a Portuguese-American widow, whose fisherman husband died at sea. At night she sings torch songs at the local club and in the day tries her best to bring up her teenage daughter Vicky (Rossum, The Phantom Of The Opera, The Day After Tomorrow). What with the many casinos in the seaside town of New Bedford, Vicky has her sights set on becoming a professional gambler. She meets Englishman Charles Beck (Isaacs, Tennis Anyone?, The Chumscrubber) an inveterate gambler, and she cuts a deal with him: "Teach me to card-count, and i'll get you a date with my mom." Celia does not allow herself to love at first, being faithful to the memory of her late husband. Charles on the other hand has a lot of emotional baggage and having lived a fast life, is not about to slow down for love. Or will he?
