| Mystic RiverSynopsis: This dark, heartwrenching drama directed by Academy Award® winner Clint Eastwood focuses on three childhood friends and how their lives violently intertwine and unravel. We see three young boys-- Jimmy Markum, Dave Boyle, and Sean Devine, playing by the roadside. Suddenly a police car pulls up next to them, shoves one of the boys into the car, and drives off. Fast forward to several years later. The boys are now grown men, carrying on with their adult lives in the small suburban town of Mystic River. A tragic event --- the murder of reformed hoodlum Jimmy's (Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Penn, The Assassination Of Richard Nixon, 21 Grams) teenage daughter Katie (Rossum, The Phantom Of The Opera, The Day After Tomorrow), throws the whole town into turmoil. With Jimmy raging and crying out for revenge, Sean (Bacon, Loverboy, Cavedweller), now a police officer, and his partner Sgt. Whitey Powers (Emmy® Award winner Fishburne, Assault On Precinct 13, The Matrix Revolutions) must find out who killed Jimmy's daughter.
