Synopsis:

Emily Delahunty (Academy Award® winner Dame Maggie Smith, Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Gosford Park), is an English novelist who is one of only four survivors of a mysterious train explosion on a trip to Milan.

With the survivors being detained by investigators, Emily offers her home in Umbria to her three fellow survivors: a retired English general (Ronnie Barker, The Gathering Storm), young German photographer Werner, and a little girl who was orphaned by the blast.

Tended to by Emily's faithful butler Quinty (Timothy Spall, The Last Samurai, Nicholas Nickleby, Rock Star) and surrounded by the lush scenery of their locale, the four form an unexpected bond--until the arrival of the girl's overly staid uncle Thomas Riversmith (Academy Award® winner Chris Cooper, American Beauty, The Bourne Identity, Seabiscuit) and Italian investigator Girotti (Giancarlo Giannini, Hannibal, A Walk In The Clouds, Swept Away) who offers some unsettling possibilities regarding the explosion's origin.
