| | Matchstick MenSynopsis: Well-known film critic Roger Ebert describes the screenplay of this movie as "... an achievement of Oscar calibre". Ridley Scott, director of box-office hits Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and Alien, surprises many by bringing this intriguing character piece to the screen. Successful con artist Roy (Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Cage, Adaptation, Sonny) suffers from uncontrollable nervous facial tics and an obsessive-compulsive disorder --- he counts to three before entering a room and cleans his overly-clean house diligently, in the middle of the night. His flashy and prolific partner-protege Frank (Rockwell, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind, Welcome To Collinwood) sends Roy to a shrink, and the shrink decides that Roy should get in touch with his long-lost 14-year old daughter. Sure enough, feisty skater chick Angela (Lohman, Big Fish, White Oleander) turns up. She's Roy's daughter by his estranged ex-wife. Angela learns of her father's dubious career, and begs to be tutored in it. To Roy's horrified fatherly pride, she turns out to be good at conning people too. Frank is wary of the newcomer in their scheme, but the three manage to get along, until one day one of them finds out just who's scamming who. Casts: Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell, Alison Lohman Duration : 111 minutes
