| | Lost in TranslationSynopsis: Young auteur Sofia Coppola has finally cemented her place in Hollywood as a full-fledged director with this quirky and touching film. The neon-lit, colorful, and frenetic city of Tokyo becomes the stage for the most unlikely friendship ever. Aging actor Bob Harris (Golden Globe® winner Murray, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, Coffee And Cigarettes) is in town to shoot a series of TV commercials for a whisky brand. Newly married Charlotte (Johansson, In Good Company, A Good Woman) has accompanied her celebrity photographer husband John (Ribisi, Flight Of The Phoenix, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow) in town to do a photo shoot. With her husband always out day and night on assignment, Charlotte may as well have been traveling alone. She spends her days staring out at the city from her hotel room, and manages sporadic wanderings in and around Tokyo. Bob meanwhile struggles with the language barrier and cultural differences to get through his commercial shoot. He knows his heart's not in it--- he's only in it for the money. The two, staying in the same hotel, bump into each other casually a few times. The seething pressure of being in a city unknown and very foreign to them throws the two of them together gradually, and they begin to look out for one another. Bob and Charlotte eventually spend nearly every waking hour together. They have conversations both deep and shallow, they try to enjoy and explore the city, and ultimately, try to find ways to avoid the fact that their friendship must come to an end soon. Casts: Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Giovanni Ribisi Duration : 96 minutes
