Synopsis:

Yvonne Biasi (Bridget Fonda) is a good-hearted waitress at a small New York coffee shop who's been driven into bankruptcy by her estranged husband. Charlie Lang (Nicolas Cage) is a friendly cop looking for nothing more than lunch. Suddenly called away on police business, he realises that he doesn't have enough cash for a tip, so he waves the lottery ticket he just bought for his greedy wife (Rosie Perez) and promises Yvonne that if he wins, he'll split the pot with her 50-50. Astonishingly, Charlie wins—to the tune of $4 million. Even more astonishingly, he keeps his promise to Yvonne.
