Synopsis:

Halley (Moore, A Walk to Remember, Chasing Liberty) is a high school student disillusioned by love after hippy deejay dad (Gallagher, American Beauty) leaves her mum (Janney, The West Wing) for a bimbo.

The rites of passage film which follows, takes a look at a year in the life of a teen as she faces divorce, unexpected death, and single parenthood. Life seems to be dealing a bad hand to those all around her.

Then an accident leads her to Macon -- played byTrent Ford who starred in "Gosford Park" -- and Halley finds that love can weaken even a hardened cynic's resolve. Mandy Moore has made the jump from singer to actor look easy and has a great supporting cast in the shape of Peter Gallagher and Allison Janney. A teen tale with rare insight into love and life.
