Ginger Snaps

Synopsis:

Not since John Landis' 1981 American Werewolf in London has there been a werewolf flick this enjoyable. Ginger (Isabelle) and her sister Brigitte (Perkins) are suburban teenagers obsessed with the concept of death. The girls live in misery with their constantly bickering father and mother (Rogers, Austin Powers) while attending a high school filled with popular jocks, nerds and prom queens.

One night, Ginger and Brigitte take a stroll to a nearby forest while their parents are out at a marriage counseling session. Suddenly and without warning, a huge beast appears and attacks the girls. Ginger is savagely bitten but Brigitte escapes unhurt. Within a few days, Ginger experiences some serious changes to her body and temperament. Desperate, Brigitte tries to find a cure with the help of Sam, a local drug dealer.

As Brigitte races against the clock (and as Halloween and another full moon approaches), Ginger begins the initial stages of her transformation. Brigitte must now stop Ginger before she completely turns into something terrifying and inhuman - a werewolf!

Trivia fans - listen out for the voice of Lucy Lawless (Xena) as the announcer over the school's PA system.
