Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star

Synopsis:

If you are used to being famous, it's pretty hard getting used to becoming an unknown. That's what Dickie Roberts (Spade, Joe Dirt) is finding out the hard way.

He used to be television's darling in his heyday as an adorable little tyke. But Hollywood is heartless when you can't hold on to your youth, and Dickie slips into obscurity, finally becoming a car valet as he tries vainly to snag the next plum role.

While hanging out with other former child stars --- a number of real-life former child stars appear throughout the film --- his agent Sidney (Lovitz, The Stepford Wives) thinks Dickie's finally got the role that can jumpstart his career. But when he's told by the director that he's just not real enough, Dickie embarks on a plan to recapture his lost childhood by spending a month with a normal, average family to experience what he thinks he may have missed by taking the road to stardom at an early age.
