| | Cotton MarySynopsis: By 1954, India had alread secured freedom and was basking in its new found glory of being an independant nation. But there was still obvious unrest amongst British Colonials and Indians. Mary is an Anglo-Indian woman who is shunned by both sides, until she saves the life of an English infant, whose mother Lily (Scacchi, The Farm) is unable to breast-feed him. Little does she know that Mary had actually taken the baby to her crippled sister, Blossom, who had breast-fed the baby. Mary becomes indispensible to Lily, but much to Mary's shock, she realises that Lily's husband John (Wilby, Gosford Park) is having an affair with her niece Rosie.
