Synopsis:

"What did you do in school today?" asks big-time lawyer and over protective father (Dan Hedaya, Dr. Mulholland, Quicksand), "I broke in my purple clogs daddy!" replies Cher. Directed by Amy Heckerling (Fast Times At Ridgemont High), this surprisingly smart and funny movie has, as its source material, the unlikely classic by Jane Austen, Emma. And, in keeping to the true identity of Emma, Cher and her best friend Dionne - not Warwick! (Dash, The Painting) - try to help a frumpy new student, Tai (Murphy, Don't Say A Word, Riding In Cars With Boys) and turn her into a teenage bombshell. Of course, Tai becomes more popular and ... not very nice.

In the meantime, the very single Cher is totally clueless that her wiley charms are turning on pal and step-brother (Paul Rudd, On The Edge) - the last guy in the world she would ever consider falling in love with.
