Bonnie and Clyde

Synopsis:

Clyde Barrow (Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Beatty, Town And Country, Bulworth) is a bank robber who has recently been released from prison. He meets Bonnie Parker (Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winner Dunaway, Ghosts Never Sleep) and together, the two form the nucleus of a gang of bank robbers who kill people and terrorize the southwest in the 1920s. This film not only won Oscars® for supporting actress, Estelle Parsons, and cinematographer, Burnett Guffey, and a windfall of nominations ranging from Best Actor to Best Picture - the movie's violent ending also stirred up immense controversy. Based on a true story, movie critic Roger Ebert was unstinting in his praise of the film: "This is pretty clearly the best American film ... it is also a landmark. Years from now it is quite possible that 'Bonnie and Clyde' will be seen as the definitive film of the 1960s, showing with sadness, humor and unforgiving detail what one society had come to."
