Annette Bening (an Oscar nominee for this movie and The Grifters) is his wife, too busy dealing with her own career crisis to notice that her husband's life is falling apart. Throw in the daughter (Thora Birch, Patriot Games) who can't decide which parent she hates more, and the daughter's friend, Angela Hayes (sexy newcomer Suvari, Sugar And Spice, American Pie) who develops a crush on the father, and you have ? well ? a real family film. Not. Oh, and by the way, the film picked up Oscars for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, 3 Golden Globe awards and 5 BAFTA (British Academy) awards.
